In the late ‘90s, Magnum Resources Inc. of Omaha began to rapidly expand its business and by the end of the year it had doubled its square footage. With the extensive growth in a short period of time, Magnum realized the need to upgrade its existing property management software.

They required a package with broader functionality, the ability to handle more data and better access to that data. Intuit Real Estate Solutions (IRES, formerly MRI) offered the functionality they were looking for.

“We looked at a few software companies,” Gail Hawkins, Chief Financial Officer, explained. “But we choose to work with IRES because we recognized them as a leader in the industry and because they had the specific functions we needed.”

In August of 1998, Magnum became one of the first real estate companies in the country to begin using MRI for Windows. “I couldn’t imagine where we would be if we were still using the old system. We would not be able to handle the volume of information we can now,” Hawkins said.

Magnum believes IRES is the future

MRI had all of the requirements Magnum wanted and needed in a new software system. According to Hawkins MRI for Windows provided Magnum with the ability for a number of users to access data more efficiently and to provide more accurate detailed reports. This has given Magnum the ability to concentrate on its business with out having to worry about their software.

“Plus, whenever we have had a problem or a question with the system, technical support has always been very responsive,” Hawkins said.

With close to 40 properties and still growing, Magnum Resources Inc. is excited for the future and looks forward to new products, software and services from IRES. Hawkins in particular is looking ahead and believes “…IRES has the right vision and strategy for the future.”
